Crocheted Easter Eggs?

I’ll start with a post about an upcoming holiday–Easter.

I was playing around with scrap yarn ideas to find a small but exciting Easter project, and I came up with the striped zip-able easter egg.

Isn’t it cute?! And it works for hiding chocolate eggs in the yard or around the house, since pets can’t easily get at the chocolate or goodies inside the egg, and the treats are easier for younger children to find.

Also, you can fill the easter eggs with jelly beans, raisins, goldfish crackers, or whatever you like.

After Easter is over, the kids can play with the zipped easter eggs for hiding and storing small toys or doll clothes, etc…I mean, how do you ever keep all those tiny polly pocket pieces together?

This project will take you about 1-2 hours to complete (for each egg), but you’ll be able to keep and re-use the eggs year after year. Use scrap yarn (I used left-over Truboo (Lion Brand) #3 100% rayon from bamboo) and be creative with your colours.

No sewing machine required–just hand stitch the zipper.
